I have had multiple times a need to shoot objetcs in diffused light. A diffusion box (lightbox) scatters light and makes shadows faint – ultimately your object will have no shadows. This technique is particularly common in commercial product photography. I built my own good entry level lightbox setup with minimal budget.
My lightbox setup is as follow:
- Godox Diffusion Box (lightbox 80*80*80cm), 59€
- 2 x Falcon Eyes ML-55 daylight bulb, ~5300K (with normal e27 screw), 25,90€ each
- 2 x Sessak Chiara (P12615-1) table lamp (27cm height, shiny white), 29€ each
Please note that Sessak Chiara is (apparently) available only in Finland and Russia. However, you may find similar cheap table lamps in any super market close to you. Just make sure they use the same Edison screw with your bulb. My setup is using 27mm screw (e27).
I am testing the setup with Nikon D600 and Nikkor 50mm f/1,4. I’ll post some exemplary photos to this blog later on.
